Robinson earns points for Leeds
Andy Robinson's 72nd-minute winner helped Leeds secure a 1-0 victory and left Hereford still without an away point despite a strong defensive performance at Elland Road.
Leeds, who had won their previous five games in league and cup, couldn't break down Hereford's determined defence in a first half of overwhelming possession but few clear chances.
Bruno N'Gotty, on loan from Leicester, was particularly outstanding for the visitors, but the Bulls survived by the skin of their teeth at times and Jermaine Beckford went close with a header and a 12-yard shot immediately after the interval.
Hereford were restricted to two shots by Stephen O'Leary in the first half and Leeds again had to show patience as they tried to make their pressure pay after the break.
Beckford twice went close to ending the stalemate immediately after the interval and goalkeeper Darren Randolph denied him with a blocking save on the hour when Leeds' top scorer was put through by Robinson.
The breakthrough eventually came 18 minutes from time when Randolph parried Luciano Becchio's header only for Robinson to head home the rebound.
