Nurnberg kept their hopes of reaching the Uefa Cup knock-out stages alive with a 2-1 win over AZ Alkmaar.
Bundesliga side secure dramatic turn around
Nurnberg required a dramatic late comeback to defeat AZ Alkmaar and keep their hopes of reaching the Uefa Cup knock-out stages alive.
A brace in the final ten minutes from Marek Mintal saw Nurnberg come from behind to defeat AZ 2-1 at the Franken Stadion and draw level on points with their Dutch opponents.
The Bundesliga outfit must now look to secure victory away to Larissa and hope for a favour from Everton in their final game against AZ on 20th December.
Demy De Zeeuw had given AZ the lead on 29 minutes but Mintal, who was a 38th minute substitute for Leon Benko, pounced to secure the turn around.
Mintal fired his first on 83 minutes and then struck again two minutes later to spark hopes of a place in the last 32.
