Shrewsbury make it two wins from two
Paul Murray's superb 71st-minute strike was enough to give Shrewsbury a 1-0 victory at Exeter.
New boy Murray - signed from Gretna in early summer - cracked home a thumping 25-yard left-foot effort across Paul Jones to stun the newly-promoted Grecians who had controlled the game for long spells.
Jones made an instinctive 20th-minute save to deny Shrewsbury striker Richard Walker but it was the home side that dominated the first half - hitting the bar three times.
In the 25th minute, visiting keeper Luke Daniels went full stretch to push Ryan Harley's central free-kick from 25 yards onto the frame of the goal.
Seconds later Daniels got the vital final touch again to tip Richard Logan's bullet-like far-post header onto the bar from Harley's inswinging left-wing corner.
When he eventually beat Daniels, Harley's left-foot shot from 16 yards smacked back off the face of the bar.
