Premier League champion Gary Anderson joked about Wayne Mardle's predictions after upsetting favourite Michael van Gerwen at the O2 in London.
'The Flying Scotsman' came hurtling back to defeat the Dutchman 11-7 in Thursday final and then teased the Sky Sports expert who backed a Michael van Gerwen victory.
The reigning world champion joked: "Wayne always tips me to get beat so it's always good to prove him wrong. He probably (tipped me to lose the final). He said 'if Anderson wins it I'll turn up in a kilt', so things like that spurred me on."
Anderson joined Phil Taylor as the only other player to hold World and Premier League titles at the same time and the Musselburgh ace added: "You know what I'm like. I don't think about titles and trophies - I play darts.
"I'm the same person. I've worked hard over 20 years and it's off to Dubai on Monday."
