Reigning world champion Gary Anderson held his nerve to defeat Premier League debutant Dave Chisnall 10-9 to reach Thursday night's final at London's O2.
Chisnall, who led 6-3 and 7-4, missed three darts for the match allowing Anderson in for a 116 checkout to reach the final against either world No 1 Michael van Gerwen or Raymond van Barneveld.
"That was the best three darts I've thrown in 16 weeks," Anderson, who hit 48 per cent checkouts in his victory, told Sky Sports 1.
"I pinched it in the end. I was getting ready to shake his hand when I went to drink my water.
"He'll be sick as a pig, but I'm not."
Anderson, who lost four of his last six major semi-finals, missed three darts at double 16 in the fifth leg which would have broken underdog Chisnall.
And he was made to pay as the St Helens' thrower made the breakthrough in the eighth leg by taking out a two-dart combination for a 5-3 lead. They went into the break with Chisnall in control at 6-4.
'The Flying Scotsman' knocked off 44 to reduce the deficit and then restore parity as the nerves began to show on the Oche.
At 9-9, Chisnall, who finished in a surprise second position at the end 15 weeks of action during the regular season, missed double 16, inside double eight and then outside double four for a spot in the final.
That allowed the Borders thrower to hit treble 20, 16 and tops to steal the prize from under the nose of 'Chizzy'.
