West Indies recall fit-again duo for World Twenty20

Ramnaresh Sarwan and Jerome Taylor have both recovered from injury to make West Indies' 15-man squad for the World Twenty20 on home soil. Neither player has featured since the tour of Australia at the end of last year, batsman Sarwan because of a back problem and fast bowler Taylor due to a thigh injury. Veteran batsman Wavell Hinds also returns to the fold after being dropped for the recent 4-1 series win over Zimbabwe in the 50-over format. "We are confident our players will deliver on the home stage," said chairman of selectors Clyde Butts. "If we play as a unit we have a very good chance of winning the tournament. "We have (captain) Chris Gayle at the top of the order and he can be a match winner. "It is also good to have our experienced players in the middle order - Shiv Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan - and this gives us strength in the batting.

Knowledgeable

"Wavell Hinds has been recalled and he brings a wealth of experience. He is a knowledgeable cricketer and we believe can make a good contribution in the middle order as well. "Dwayne Bravo is one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket and he is the key man with bat and ball. We are happy to have Jerome Taylor back in the bowling department and this is a big plus. "I also believe (spinner) Sulieman Benn will play a major role with the ball." West Indies are in Group D alongside England and Ireland for the April 30-May 16 event in the Caribbean. West Indies squad: C Gayle (capt), S Benn, D Bravo, S Chanderpaul, N Deonarine, A Fletcher, W Hinds, N Miller, K Pollard, D Ramdin (wkt), R Rampaul, K Roach, D Sammy, R Sarwan, J Taylor
