Board member ousted after failing to get on with chairman
The Pakistan Cricket Board has sacked chief operating officer Salim Altaf following disagreements with chairman Ijaz Butt.
The decision was made at a governing council meeting last month where members agreed a resolution to oust Altaf from his position.
Hand-picked for the job by Butt himself, Altaf is another high-profile official who has either been removed or has resigned from the PCB in the recent past.
Aamir Sohail quit as director of the National Cricket Academy, while legendary leg-spinner Abdul Qadir stood down as chief of the selection committee after citing interference as the reason.
Altaf had served under former PCB chief Nasim Ashraf and was also sacked by the former chairman after being accused of leaking confidential documents to the media.
