Sky Sports' women's cricket coverage has been nominated for a Women's Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger Award.

'England Women on Tour' - a one-hour behind-the-scenes documentary which gained exclusive unprecedented access to the England dressing room while they toured Jamaica and Sri Lanka - has been nominated in the Media Initiative of the Year category.

The programme profiled the brilliant highs and inevitable lows of Heather Knight's team both on and off the pitch, as they tried to secure qualification for the ICC World Cup 2017.

Extra content from the documentary was provided for shows such as Sky Sports' Sportswomen and Sky Sports Cricket to ensure the programme received exposure and engaged a wider audience.

A digital campaign ran alongside the show, including a promotional video on all the Sky Sports platforms and video clips on Sky Cricket twitter, with very impressive numbers including record engagement rates.

The team also reached out to various organisations such as Women's Sport Trust, Women in Sport, and Team Up to promote the programme.

The top female players descend on the UK this summer as England hosts to the 2017 Women's World Cup.

In August, Sky Sports launched a new initiative 'Sky Sports Women's Cricket Week' across multiple platforms, in partnership with the ECB. Charlotte Edwards MBE was the guest commentator for the live coverage and it produced record numbers of views. Hundreds of clubs and schools got involved and encouraged young girls to pick up a bat to try cricket during the week.

The week recognised the game at the elite level, showcasing England's three T20 contests live against rivals Pakistan, while also tapping into the grassroots game and inspiring women of all ages.
