Skipper assesses India's tour of England

India captain Rahul Dravid admits England deserved their 4-3 win in the One-Day International series between the nations. Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood both hit unbeaten half-centuries at Lord's as England successfully chased down 188 for victory. There was some real quality cricket played in the hotly contested series, but after their seven wicket defeat on Saturday, Dravid concedes England have reason to be optimistic. "I think 4-3 was a fair result in the series," he told Sky Sports 2. "We had to keep fighting with our backs to the wall. We did that and we showed a lot of resilience at the end of a long tour, but credit to them. "They played some very good cricket in the series."

Tour

But having bounced back from their humiliating first round exit at the World Cup in March, with a Test series victory over England, Dravid is proud of his team. "It's been a good tour there's been some good cricket played. It's heartening for me to see the way some of the boys have responded to the disappointments we had in the early part of the year," he added. "People contributed right through the summer, so there are a lot of positives for me to take from this series and things to work on as well." Next up for India is the ICC World Twenty20 tournament, which they start against Scotland live on Sky Sports on 13th September.
