Right-hander to replace Tendulkar in one-day squad
India have called up Subramaniam Badrinath to replace Sachin Tendulkar for the rest of the one-day series against England.
Tendulkar was forced to miss the entire series because of a toe injury, becoming the eighth player to be sent home from the tour because of injury.
Badrinath is something of a late-comer to the international arena at the age of 31, having played just two Tests, seven one-dayers and a T20 international.
The right-hander will join Manoj Tiwary in the squad for the second one-dayer at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday after Tiwary was called up on Sunday when Rohit Sharma was ruled out.
