Moeen Ali feels the attacking nature of limited-overs cricket has helped England hit form this summer.

England regained the Ashes with an emphatic victory in the fourth Test at Trent Bridge and can clinch the series 4-1 if they win the final head-to-head at The Oval.

The victory came off the back off a superb 3-2 series win in a one-day international campaign against New Zealand which contained some vast scores and thrilling matches.

Ali, who will form part of an effort to win the Ashes by a 4-1 margin, feels the style of play the team has developed in white-ball cricket has helped them to prosper in the Test arena.

“It’s a great opportunity to win such a big series 4-1 and we need to keep the rhythm up, keep playing and keep our foot on the throat,” he said.

“To win two games in two-and-a-half days is an amazing effort, especially by the bowlers.

"The one-dayers and T20s have made such a difference. They’ve given everyone the confidence to go out and be attacking. Everyone has enjoyed this series and everyone is really buzzing.
