James Anderson is on course to return to the England side for the second Test against South Africa, Trevor Bayliss has confirmed.
A calf injury kept Anderson out as the tourists won the opener in Durban by 241 runs, but England's most prolific Test wicket-taker was able to bowl in practice at Kingsmead.
Alastair Cook said after the game he was hopeful of having Anderson back in Cape Town on Saturday, and Bayliss has now endorsed his captain's verdict.
"We'll make the decision when we get to Cape Town," the England coach said. "The signs look good and he's been working hard but we'll have to wait and see how he pulls up."
Sky Sports' Nasser Hussain believes Anderson is nailed on to be in the side this weekend, with Chris Woakes the most obvious candidate to make way.
"England wouldn't be talking Anderson up if there was any kind of doubt," he said.
"In a four-man attack you probably wouldn't risk Anderson but in a five-man attack if you have the chance of bringing back your greatest-ever wicket taker, why not do it?"
