Pakistan bowler Wahab Riaz signs for Derbyshire

Derbyshire have announced the signing of experienced Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz for the Vitality Blast this summer.

The 32-year-old will be available for the county's first 10 matches, starting against Lancashire Lightning on July 6.

Riaz said: "I'm really excited to be joining Derbyshire for the Vitality Blast. They had a terrific 2017 campaign and from what I've heard they want to progress further this year.

"I hope I can play my part in a successful side and use my experience to help the squad in any way I can," he said.

Averaging speeds of over 90 miles per hour, the left arm bowler will be a welcome asset at the County Ground.

Riaz was controversially left out of Pakistan's Test squad for the one-off Test match against Ireland and this summer's two-Test series against England.
