Yorkshire seamer Moin Ashraf offered trial at Hampshire

Yorkshire’s Moin Ashraf has been offered a trial at LV= County Championship Division One rivals Hampshire.
The 23-year-old’s contract at Headingley is set to expire at the end of the season after failing to secure a place in the league leaders' first team.
The right-arm seamer has not featured for Yorkshire’s first XI for almost two years – his last first-team appearance coming in a Yorkshire Bank 40 match against Glamorgan in August 2013.
Martyn Moxon, Yorkshire’s Director of Cricket, says it is the right decision to allow Ashraf to trial at other clubs.
“Moin needs to be playing regular cricket,” Moxon said.
“He has fallen down the pecking order at the Club as far as playing first team cricket. At least three seamers – Matthew Fisher, Josh Shaw and Ben Coad – are ahead of him and clearly at this stage of his career he needs to be playing first team cricket.
“His contract is up at the end of the season and no decision has been made about his future. It’s only right that Moin gets every opportunity to showcase his talents and see what’s out there for him. Hopefully it’ll work out for him at Hampshire over the next few weeks.”
