West Indies' Marlon Samuels avoids punishment over 'throat-slitting' incident

News agency AFP are reporting Marlon Samuels will not face sanction over his "throat-slitting" gesture.
Samuels was caught on camera making the gesture in West Indies' 73-run win over Zimbabwe in the Cricket World Cup on Tuesday
The West Indies batsman appeared to run his thumb from one side of his throat to the other as a sign to his century.
"The match officials have seen the incident and have decided not to lay a charge," a source was reported to have told AFP.
However, it is understood the match referee did have an informal talk to Samuels regarding the matter after the match.
The West Indies have an had an eventful World Cup so far losing to Ireland by four wickets in their opening match before Samuels shared a 372-run stand with Chris Gayle against Zimbabwe, Gayle becoming the first ever double centurion in World Cup history.
