England fined for slow over-rate in fourth ODI with Sri Lanka

England have again been fined for a slow over-rate during the fourth one-day international against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday.
David Boon, the ICC match referee, imposed the fine after Eoin Morgan’s side was ruled to be one over short of their target when time allowances were taken into consideration.
Alastair Cook, England’s usual captain, missed the game after being found guilty of the same offence in the third ODI.
It was the second time in 12 months that Cook fell short, which triggered the one-match ban. The previous offence came against India in Cardiff last summer.
The England team will be fined 10 per cent of their match fee, with captain Morgan fined double that amount.
If Morgan is found guilty of one more minor over-rate offence in ODIs over the next 12 months while acting as captain, he will, like Cook, receive a one-match suspension.
