Markram's knock plus Rilee Rossouw's 64 and Liam Dawson's 43 propelled James Vince's men to 301-9, with Middlesex seamer Tom Helm taking 5-71, including the wickets of Rossouw and Vince (14), at The Ageas Bowl.

Markram made England ODI skipper Eoin Morgan (41) one of his victims, while Dawson (3-37) and Kyle Abbott (3-36) also starred as Hampshire dismissed Middlesex for 182 to move top of the South Group, two points above Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex and Gloucestershire.

Nottinghamshire head the North Group - the Outlaws are two points clear of Durham - following a 118-run win over rock-bottom Warwickshire at Edgbaston, a game in which Ben Slater notched his fifth List A hundred. Warks vs Notts scorecard

Benny Howell (2-39) and David Payne (2-45) impressed with the ball for Gloucestershire, before Gareth Roderick (100no) and James Bracey (67) flourished with the bat as the hosts coasted home with 19 balls to spare against a Kent fielding outfit minus Denly.

Finally, Surrey chalked up their first win of the season, with Liam Plunkett taking a timely 4-50 as the Londoners beat Essex by 65 runs at the Oval. Surrey vs Essex scorecard

Plunkett, whose World Cup spot is under threat from Jofra Archer, picked up combined figures of 1-124 from 13 overs in the defeats to Gloucestershire and Sussex but responded on Tuesday as Essex were bowled out for 213 in reply to Surrey's 278-8.

Ben Foakes (82) earlier completed back-to-back fifties for Surrey and skipper Rory Burns hit 55 while Essex seamer Sam Cook claimed 3-37.

Jason Roy (35no) was forced to retire hurt with a back spasm four overs into Surrey's innings but returned to the crease in the 47th over to partially allay concerns over his fitness with the World Cup looming, although he was not risked in the field.
