Former Australia international Stuart MacGill has been working with England leg-spinner Mason Crane just days before the start of the Ashes series.
MacGill, a former leg-spinner himself who played in 44 Tests for Australia, has teamed up again with Crane after a successful period helping out the Hampshire bowler last winter.
MacGill has been assisting and guiding Matthew Parkinson of Lancashire and Derbyshire's Matt Critchley in the Lions squad but helped out with the senior squad ahead of the first Test in Brisbane on November 23.
Crane's mentoring from the former leg-spinner last winter in Sydney during the English off-season paid dividends, and was a big part in him becoming the first overseas player to play for New South Wales in 32 years.
The 20-year-old is now a part of the main set-up and the ECB are hoping MacGill's experience and tutoring will give both the Lions and senior squad a boost ahead of the series in Australia.
