A pick of the action from the third day of the first Test match between England and South Africa at Lord's.

England are on top in the first Test at Lord's - but Quinton de Kock gave South Africa something to cheer with a 36-ball fifty.

The left-hander recorded the second fastest half-century in a Test at HQ, after Kapil Dev's 35-ball knock in 1982, as the Proteas made 361 in their first innings, Temba Bavuma and Vernon Philander also posting half-centuries on Saturday after Dean Elgar's 54 on day two.

Moeen Ali (4-59) was the pick of the England bowlers as they earned a 97-run lead on first innings, before Alastair Cook's nuggety knock of 59 not out from 164 deliveries extended that advantage to 216 by the close.

Cook, who survived a couple of lbw reviews early on, batted against an attack devoid of Philander, the seamer not bowling on day three after suffering a bruised hand from a Jimmy Anderson delivery while batting.
