Yorkshire coach Andrew Gale has criticised England for not giving Jonny Bairstow permission to play for his county at the start of the domestic season.
The Headingley club completed a victory over Warwickshire by an innings and 88 runs on Monday but they did it without wicketkeeper Bairstow, who was ordered to rest by the ECB.
Bairstow was part of the England tour to India, which concluded in December, but was not picked up in the auction for the Indian Premier League, meaning he has played just three days of cricket in 2017 - two warm-up matches and a one-day international on the Indian tour at Kolkata.
Gale, who was brought in to take charge at Yorkshire in November 2016, was left puzzled by England's decision.
"I can see why someone like Rooty (Joe Root) would want a rest given the amount of cricket he's played," he said.
"But Jonny has played one one-day international since Christmas. I think he's played three days of cricket.
"For me, he should have been available right from the first game of the season. He had enough time off from the end of the West Indies trip. I felt he should have been available."
