Zak Chappell has signed a contract extension with Leicestershire which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2017 season.
Chappell hit the headlines last year when he scored 96 when batting from number 10 on his first-class debut in the final County Championship match of the season at Derbyshire.
The 19-year-old English all-rounder also impressed with the ball by dismissing opener Ben Slater in both innings.
"Zak is a highly-talented young cricketer who showed what he was all about during the game at Derbyshire last season," said Leicestershire's elite performance director Andrew McDonald.
"He played beautifully with the bat and we were all sitting on the balcony willing him on to make a hundred.
"Zak then showed real promise with the ball too and we are encouraged by his progress. He has worked extremely hard on his game over the winter and we are looking forward to seeing him continue his development over the next two seasons."
