Latest news from this afternoon's meeting at Kempton where Lihou won the opener.

Lihou put his previous experience to good use to land the Betfred TV/British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Kempton.

Having finished fourth in the Brocklesby on his debut at Doncaster last month, the son of Mayson, one of two runners in the five-furlong prize for trainer David Evans alongside Disruptor, made good, late headway under Fran Berry before defeating debutant Kinks by a head.

Evans said of the 100-30 winner: "He would have probably won easier if had got a better draw. It is nice to get a winner early on.

"He is a nice sort of a horse and he run well in the Brocklesby.

"If he had more company and got away quicker he would have been closer at Doncaster. It is nice he has come back here and done it."

It was a case of as you were after A Momentofmadness stepped forward from his seasonal return at Lingfield to land the Betfred Mobile Handicap for the second year in succession.

Given a smart front ride from the front by William Buick, the Charlie Hills-trained five-year-old registered his first victory since landing the five-furlong dash 12 months ago when defeating Jumira Bridge by three-quarters of a length in a course-record time of 58.07 seconds.

Hills said of the 11-4 winner: "He behaved a lot better down at the start than at Lingfield.

"He got a good start and he is always hard to beat once he gets in a position like that.

"He run a good race last time but I think he was a little bit awkward away. He was not really in a position to challenge and nothing went right.

"I think there is a race at Newmarket over five furlongs we will look at next. The owners love the Epsom Dash and he ran well in it last year.

"I am hoping at some stage this year we might aim him at some black type races."

Raven's Lady earned a step back up in class after opening her account for the season with a front-running success in the Betfred "Supports Jack Berry House" Handicap. After being gifted an easy lead, the Marco Botti-trained four-year-old never saw another rival in the six-furlong contest to go one better than her previous outing at Wolverhampton and defeat Pipers Note by two and a half lengths. The Newmarket handler, speaking from Italy, said of the 7-1 winner: "She won well and obviously she was well-in as the handicapper rated her 5lb lower on the all-weather. "She did it nicely and the next race will be a six-furlong Listed race at Nottingham (Kilvington Stakes) on May 12. "I think six furlongs is her best trip as she has got plenty of toe and plenty of speed. She is very genuine as well. "If she had won at Wolverhampton we would have probably gone to All-Weather Finals Day but we didn't want to run her three times through the winter to get there." Dathanna made a winning return to action in the four-runner Betfred "Treble Odds On Lucky 15's" Fillies' Conditions Stakes. Having finished second on her final start last season, the daughter of Dubawi made it three wins from six career starts when showing a good turn off foot in the mile contest to defeat Dance Me by seven lengths and complete a double for Buick. The jockey said of the Charlie Appleby-trained 10-11 favourite: "That was nice. She was nice and relaxed. "First time out as a two-year-old she was quite buzzy and they did well to get her back and relaxed. "Physically she has come on through the winter. The mile is perfect for her. "It was a hard race to assess beforehand and I'm sure it will be hard to assess afterwards. She could not have done anything more, really."
