      Verdict

The unbeaten Starman and Aristocratic Lady step up from novice and handicap company respectively but are more progressive than most of their rivals. Judicial justified favouritism in this grade at Chester last month but has to concede weight all round. Last year’s winner DAKOTA GOLD came right back to form in the Beverley Bullet 10 days ago and loves it here. He may be hard to beat again if getting away on terms. Ventura Rebel blew the start at Newmarket eight days ago but still wasn’t beaten far and is tried in a visor. Deauville third Galadriel gets all the allowances so can also play a part with Kevin Stott preferring her to Major Jumbo.
