Verdict

A dual Grade 1 winner over 3m, the ever-popular FRODON has a big weight but is not out of this if lasting home being only 2lb higher than when landing the Badger Beer at Wincanton in the autumn. Paul Nicholls also runs Enrilo, first past the post in this in 2021 and 6lb lower, and Broken Halo, who has won his last two here. Moroder won over further at Exeter last season and over 3m2f at Doncaster last month but was well behind Certainly Red at Wincanton earlier. Annsam has won at Kempton and Ludlow since the turn of the year but was behind the selection in between. Kitty's Light has placed in this in the last two years and is seeking a hat-trick in long-distance handicaps having won the Eider and the Scottish Grand National in his last two starts, though it’s only seven days since the latter. Revels Hill can reverse Exeter running with Coolvalla but Mucho Mas is racing out of the handicap, as is last year’s runner-up Musical Slave. The Goffer ran well in the Ultima at Cheltenham but was pulled up in the Irish Grand National subsequently and may be due a rest.
