In depth

Verdict

Alkhattaaf beat Master Grey over 1m4f at Chepstow in May but has struggled to make an impact over longer trips. Twice a winner here this season, the latter’s stablemate Singing The Blues will probably be thereabouts again but Lexington Knight has stamina to prove over this far. CHOIRMASTER hasn’t won this year but is running well and the Johnstons wouldn’t have sent him all the way from Middleham if they didn’t think he could return home with some prize money. Copperplate did well to master the odds-on City Vaults over 2m at Chelmsford after winning over this trip at Redcar and is an obvious danger, despite a penalty.
