In depth

Verdict

Mere Anarchy has finished second the last twice but is only 1-22 over hurdles and probably better over shorter trips. LITTLE RED LION has been chasing and won twice this season. He fell last time but was still going well at the time and was successful the last time he ran over timber – he looks well treated, despite top weight. A Perfect Gift needs a return to his best form but Le Tueur won at Ffos Las before finishing a beaten favourite at Hereford and Memphis Bell has already enjoyed a terrific campaign, though has had a break since completing a four-timer at Newton Abbot in October and is 8lb higher here.
