UEFA Nations League round-up: Italy, Israel and Russia win
Sunday 14 October 2018 22:57, UK
Cristiano Biraghi struck in the second minute of added time as Italy snatched their first win in the UEFA Nations League by edging out Poland 1-0 in Chorzow on Sunday.
It looked set to be a frustrating evening for the Azzurri, who dominated possession and spurned a glut of gilt-edged opportunities.
However, Biraghi slid at the back post to steer home Kevin Lasagna's flick on from a corner with only seconds remaining to prompt euphoric celebrations from the visitors.
It was no less than they deserved following 18 attempts at goal, with Jorginho and Federico Chiesa both denied by the crossbar in the first half.
Poland will finish bottom of Group A3 and face relegation from the top tier of the Nations League.
