Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn return on Smackdown
Wednesday 18 October 2017 11:55, UK
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn teamed up for the first time since rekindling their friendship in the main event of Smackdown Live last night.
Earlier in the evening, Zayn interrupted Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan's homecoming in Washington, brushing off Bryan's disappointment at his actions at Hell in a Cell, demeaning the former WWE Champion and denouncing their friendship. And, when KO joined in the chastising, Bryan responded by telling them he would find two men to take them on in the main event.
Those two were revealed as Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura, who took out Rusev and Aidan English last week. But a distraction by KO proved the difference, keeping the referee's attention long enough for Zayn to hit a low blow on Orton and connect with a Helluva kick for the win.
WWE Champion Jinder Mahal stunned the WWE Universe by challenging Brock Lesnar to a champion v champion match at Survivor Series.
Claiming he had defeated everyone worth his time in the Smackdown locker room, the Modern Day Maharaja has seemingly set his sights on the WWE Universal Champion.

AJ Styles cut him short, though, pointing out that Mahal had not defeated him. The two exchanged words before Styles dropped the champion with a barrage of strikes and a Pele kick.
Furious at his treatment, Mahal quickly sought out GM Daniel Bryan and set up a match between Styles and his sidekick Sunil Singh next week on Smackdown Live.
Charlotte got some measure of revenge on Natalya at the conclusion of a fiery six-woman tag team match. The Queen had just forced Lana to tap-out to her signature Figure-Eight Leglock when Natalya tried to repeat her actions at Hell in a Cell and attack Charlotte with a steel chair.
This time, though, Charlotte was ready, blocking the assault before laying down a beating of her own to chase off the WWE Smackdown Women's champion.
