WWE Roadblock: What happened at the event earlier this year?

Watch Roadblock: End of the Line on Sunday night

Sunday's WWE Roadblock event features the tagline End of the Line - but when it was held in March of this year, the show acted as a bump on the winding Road to WrestleMania.

Perched between January's Royal Rumble and April's Show of Shows, the extravaganza in Toronto saw the WWE World Heavyweight Title defended and The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, in action.

Read on to re-live the key moments from the first Roadblock - and then make sure you don't miss the second, live on Sky Sports Box Office from 1am on Sunday night.

Ambrose plays The Game - and loses

Triple H is currently focussed on his business duties in WWE - including announcing a two-night tournament in January to crown the inaugural United Kingdom Champion - but in March he was WWE World Heavyweight Champion, courtesy of winning January's Royal Rumble.

The Game's first defence in his 14th reign with a WWE world title came against Dean Ambrose, the man he had eliminated last to triumph in the Rumble. The Lunatic Fringe soon challenged Triple H on Raw and the champion accepted - but not before administering a Pedigree.

The same move saw The Cerebral Assassin retain the belt at Roadblock, after Ambrose's three-count following a Dirty Deeds was deemed void with his foot underneath the rope - Ambrose later took a tumble through the announce desk after Triple H rolled clear of an elbow drop.

Brock batters Harper

Ambrose was the man to be crushed by Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 - The Lunatic Fringe hit with an F5 onto a bundle of chairs in a No Holds Barred Street Fight - but Luke Harper was the Superstars roughed up at Roadblock as he and Bray Wyatt took on The Anomaly in a handicap match.

Not that it developed into a handicap match - Wyatt spending the entire bout outside the ring as Lesnar nailed Harper with five German suplexes and an F5. To his credit, Harper got a few shots in, including two superkicks and a discus clothesline, but there was no conquering The Conqueror.

Champions remain that way

Besides Triple H's WWE World Title, two more main-roster championships were on the line in Ontario as Charlotte defended the now-defunct Divas Title against Natalya and The New Day put their Tag Team Titles on the line against The League of Nations' Sheamus and King Barrett.

Charlotte retained her strap via crafty means, rolling up The Queen of Harts after using the ropes as leverage, while Big E's Big Ending on Barrett saw The New Day keep hold of the twin titles - they've still got them now and this week passed Demolition's record 478-day reign with the belts.

Survival for The Revival

NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival have enjoyed two reigns with the titles, but one of their most high-profile matches in their first stint came against fan favourites Enzo Amore and Big Cass at Roadblock, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder hitting Shatter Machine on Amore to seal victory.

Dawson and Wilder subsequently lost their gold to American Alpha in April before winning it back in June and then shipping it again in November to #DIY in a stellar two-out-of-three falls match. Interested in using fists not flips, The Revival must now be eyeing progression to the main roster.

Canadians come up trumps

True, Calgary-born Natalya may have been beaten in Toronto but Quebec native Sami Zayn knocked off Stardust with a Helluva Kick and the Winnipeg-raised Chris Jericho downed Jack Swagger via submission after applying The Walls of Jericho to ensure plenty of Canadian success.

Two Canadians will also take centre stage this Sunday, with Jericho going one-on-one with Seth Rollins and Quebecer Kevin Owens defending the Universal Title against Reigns. The chances of Y2J and Owens helping one another seem slim, though, after their bromance broke down on Raw…
