WWE Survivor Series: Undertaker's highs and lows at Fall Classic

The Undertaker will celebrate his 25th anniversary in WWE at Survivor Series.

The Phenom may have been absent from WWE's Fall Classic for the last five years but he remains inextricably linked with the event, having both debuted and won his first world title at the November show.

Here are Undertaker's highs and lows from his 17 Survivor Series matches so far ahead of his 2015 showdown with The Wyatt Family...

THE DEBUT (1990)

And so he was born. Ted DiBiase had promised that a mystery man would partner him, The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match against Dusty Rhodes, Koko B. Ware and The Hart Foundation - and he delivered a 6ft 10in behemoth. The Undertaker did not secure victory for The Million Dollar Team - that came when DiBiase bested Bret Hart after reversing a flying body press - but The Phenom did make his mark before being counted out, conquering B. Ware with a Tombstone Piledriver and Rhodes with a double axe handle. To coin Chris Jericho's phrase, the WWE would 'never, ever be the same again'.

THE LAST MATCH (2009)

Speaking of Jericho, he combatted The Undertaker on the previous occasion he set foot in the ring at Survivor Series, in a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship that also featured the Big Show. Jericho and Show were Unified Tag Team Champions at the time, performing under the catchy name Jeri-Show, so the odds looked stacked against The Demon of Death Valley retaining his title. However, there was a breakdown among the partners once Big Show knocked out The Undertaker, leading to Show poleaxing Jericho as well. The carnage allowed the champion to find his bearings and lock in Hell's Gate on the World's Largest Athlete.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP WIN (1991)

Undertaker had enjoyed a dominant year since making his Survivor Series bow, earning himself a shot at WWE Champion Hulk Hogan at the 1991 event. Jaws dropped when Hogan did the unthinkable - namely kicked out of the Tombstone Piledriver - but The Phenom was not to be denied when Ric Flair entered the fray and slid a steel chair into the ring. Taker administered a second Tombstone Piledriver onto said chair and pinned The Hulkster shortly after to claim the world title for the first time. The legend has gone on to secure the prize on a total of seven occasions, most recently holding the strap between late 2009 and early 2010.

THE CASKET MATCHES (1992, 1994, 2008)

The Phenom is synonomous with Hell in a Cell, having competed in the inaugural bout and appeared inside the demonic structure more times than anybody else, but he is also partial to a Casket Match. Taker bested Kamala in 1992 after clocking the powerhouse with his trademark urn and overcame Big Show in 2008 when hurling the giant into one casket before plonking him into another. Undertaker's most memorable coffin contest at Survivor Series, though, came in 1994 when he vanquished Yokozuna while special guest referee Chuck Norris - yes, Way of the Dragon star and martial-arts expert, Chuck Norris - kicked Jeff Jarrett in the face.

THE SINGLES LOSSES (1998, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2007)

A 12-5 record is what The Undertaker holds at present, with a series of one-on-one defeats denting his Fall Classic résumé. The Deadman's half-brother Kane interfered to cost him matches against The Rock (1998) and Vince McMahon (2003), while he was pinned by Kurt Angle (2000) in a world-title tussle after mistakenly hitting Kurt's brother, Eric, with a Last Ride. Taker also suffered back-to-back reverses in 2006 and 2007, pummelled with a steel chair by MVP to ship a First Blood bout against Mr Kennedy before losing to Batista a year later when, with the Phenom on course to regain the world championship, Edge emerged to scupper his dreams.

SURVIVOR SERIES BOOKING DETAILS

WWE Survivor Series will be shown on Sky Sports Box Office (channel 491) and Sky Sports HD Box Office (channel 492) at 1am on Sunday, November 22 (Monday morning).

WWE Survivor Series will be repeated on Sky Sports Box Office (channel 491) but NOT Sky Sports HD Box Office (channel 492) between 9am, Monday, November 23 and 9pm, Tuesday, November 24.

Repeat showings will last for three hours, with the final showing STARTING at 9pm on Tuesday, November 24.

The event is priced at £19.95 for UK customers, €24.95 for viewers in the Republic of Ireland.
