Rangers are keen on bringing Southampton captain Steven Davis back to Ibrox, according to Sky sources.
Davis played 152 games for Rangers during a six-year spell after initially joining on loan from Fulham, winning three Scottish top-flight titles.
The 33-year-old also won two Scottish Cups and three League Cups during his time in Glasgow.
The Northern Ireland midfielder suffered a hamstring injury in the latter stages of last season which saw him play just once under Mark Hughes since February.
The former Aston Villa player has 12 months left on his current contract.
