Uruguay centre-back Martin Caceres is flying to England for talks with Premier League clubs, according to Sky sources.
Sources close to Caceres say Southampton, Crystal Palace and Sunderland are interested in signing the 29-year-old.
Caceres is a free agent after leaving Juventus last summer.
The Saints have been looking for a centre-back since selling captain Jose Fonte to West Ham last month.
The South Coast club will also be without Virgil van Dijk for at least two months due to an ankle injury.
Caceres passed medical at AC Milan last month but failed to agree personal terms.
A move to Turkish club Trabzonspor also collapsed in January after he failed a medical.
Caceres began his career with Defensor Sporting in Uruguay before a move to Villarreal and then Barcelona.
He spent time on loan at Juventus and Sevilla before joining the latter on a permanent deal, but was loaned to Juventus again before making that switch permanent in 2012.
