Reports emanating from the Bosnia and Herzegovina camp suggest manager Safet Susic is set to leave his role with the national side following their FIFA World Cup exit.
A 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nigeria on Sunday saw Susic’s side crash out of the tournament and with the former Bosnia international’s contract expiring at the end of the tournament, the national team looks set for a new dawn.
Susic and members of the Bosnia squad were quick to blame their exit on New Zealand referee Peter O’Leary, but nevertheless, the Dragons failure to qualify for the Round of 16 brought the curtain down on their time in Brazil.
Bosnia lost their opening match to Argentina 2-1, but claimed Edin Dzeko was wrongly denied a goal for offside before Peter Odemwingie netted the winner for Nigeria as they slipped to back-to-back defeats.
Wednesday's final Group F match against Iran, who could secure a passage to the Round of 16, could now be Susic's final game in the Bosnian dugout.
Prior to joining the national set-up in 2009, Susic held coaching roles with Turkish clubs Caykur Rizespor and Ankaraspor and reports suggest the former midfielder has already had offers to return to the Super Lig.
Bosnia will begin their Euro 2016 qualification campaign at home to Cyprus on September 9, before a trip to Wales on October 10 but there looks set to be a change of leadership before their bid to book a place in France can begin.
