Highlights of the WSL game between West Ham and Tottenham

Opta stats

  • Aston Villa went on an eight-game unbeaten run in the FA WSL between April and September (W2 D6), but have since lost four of their following five games in the competition (W1), conceding 13 goals in the four defeats.
  • After winning five consecutive FA WSL matches between May and October, keeping four clean sheets in the process, Spurs are since winless in four league matches, conceding at least once in each game (D2 L2).
  • Aston Villa had just one shot in their 5-0 defeat to Manchester City on MD8, the fourth time they'd had one or fewer shots in an FA WSL match - only Birmingham City have done so more often in WSL history (five times).
  • Spurs have conceded just six goals in the FA WSL this season, with only Arsenal (3) and Chelsea (5) conceding fewer. They have, however, faced 100 shots, which is 29 more than Arsenal and 48 more than Chelsea.
  • Aston Villa have had fewer shots on target than any FA WSL side this season (14) but have scored with five of those, a ratio of 36%.
  • The two duos to combine to create the most chances for one another in the FA WSL without assisting one another - Chioma Ubogagu and Kit Graham (10) & Rachel Williams and Ria Percival (9) - both play for Tottenham Hotspur.
  • Remi Allen is the only player in the current Aston Villa squad to have previously scored against Tottenham in the FA WSL. Allen put former side Reading ahead against Spurs in the 88th minute of an FA WSL match in December 2019.

Highlights of the Women's Super League clash between Manchester United and Arsenal

Opta stats

  • This is the first FA WSL meeting between Arsenal and Leicester City. Arsenal have won their first WSL meeting with the last eight clubs they've faced, last losing in May 2014 against Man City.
  • No newly-promoted side has won against Arsenal in the FA Women's Super League since May 2014, the Gunners' first such match, when they lost 1-0 to Man City. They are unbeaten in 19 games since (W16 D3) and haven't conceded in any of their last five.
  • Leicester City have become only the third team in FA Women's Super League history to lose their first eight matches of the season, along with Doncaster Rovers Belles in 2016 and Yeovil Town Ladies in 2017-18. Both of those sides went on to lose their ninth match of those seasons too.
  • Arsenal have forced 102 high turnovers in the FA WSL this season, at least seven more than any other side. They have scored four goals from such situations, the joint-most of any side along with Chelsea and Manchester City. High turnovers are sequences that start in open play within 40 metres from the opposition goal.
  • The average age of Leicester City's starting XI's in the FA WSL this season is just 24 years and 95 days, the youngest of any side.
  • Arsenal have scored four goals from corner situations in the FA WSL this season, the most of any side, with three of those being assisted by Katie McCabe. Indeed, seven of their last eight goals from corner situations have been assisted by the Irish international.
  • Arsenal's Katie McCabe created 16 chances in just three matches in the FA WSL during November, seven more than any other player. She has five assists this season, the joint-most of any player along with Fran Kirby.
  • Although she has only played 57% of the minutes available to her in the FA WSL this season (408/720), Natasha Flint has been involved in more shot-ending open play sequences than any other Leicester player (21).
