World number 12 believes serve will be crucial against American

Ana Ivanovic is looking forward to the challenge of facing Venus Williams after making it through to the second week at Wimbledon. The former world number one has struggled for form in 2009 but has improved round-by-round at the All England Club. The Serbian, who suffered early exits at both the Australian and French Opens earlier this year, had to save a match point in her opening round but has not dropped a set since. On Saturday she cruised past Samantha Stosur - a semi-finalist at Roland Garros - to set up a fourth-round showdown with Williams.

Excited

"In the first three matches I was playing better and better and that's what you want to feel going into the second week of a grand slam," she said. "It's been a while since I've gone far in a grand slam so I'm very excited to have the opportunity to do that here. I think my game suits grass very well. I still want to enjoy every match and see what happens." Ivanovic will be hoping to improve on a miserable record against the defending champion having lost five of their previous six meetings. The world number 12, beaten by the American when they met in the semi-finals at SW19 in 2007, believes she must serve well to cause an upset.
Dominate points
"She likes to go for her first shot, she likes to dominate the points," Ivanovic added. "I have to try to make a lot of returns, and obviously it's going to be important for me to serve well because she has great first serves. If I can hold on to my serve and then put pressure on her, that would be key." All eight fourth-round matches in the women's draw will be played on Monday, including an all-Russian clash between Elena Dementieva and Elena Vesnina. World number one Dinara Safina will make her first appearance on Centre Court this year when she takes on former champion Amelie Mauresmo.
