Only seed left in at Eastbourne makes semi-finals
Danish teenager Caroline Wozniacki is the only seed left in the AEGON International after she made her way into the semi-finals in Eastbourne.
The sixth-seeded Dane was a serene winner of her match with Russian qualifier Ekaterina Makarova as she came out with a 6-3 6-2 victory in under an hour.
Holder and eighth seed Agnieszka Radwanska was knocked out after being beaten 7-6 7-5 by Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano.
Wimbledon junior champion Wozniacki will now go up against Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak in the semis after she thrashed Russian qualifier Vera Dushevina 6-1 6-0.
"I love coming back on grass every year and even though it is only a short period of time that we play on grass I feel like I am adapting really fast," said the 18-year-old Wozniacki.
"They have the best ice cream shop right around the corner and every year we go there. If I win I let myself eat one, if I don't I feel I don't deserve one."
11th-ranked Radwanska broke world number 25 Razzano as the Frenchwoman served for the match at 5-3 and also avoided three match-points with solid serving in the following game.
However, in the 12th game Radwanska let her serve slip and Razzano took full advantage to power to victory.
"I played a tough match yesterday night and we finished very late and today was another tough match," Razzano said in a court-side interview.
When informed she would now face compatriot Marion Bartoli in the semis, after she beat Anabel Medina Garrigues, the Frenchwoman said.
"I know everything about her," said Razzano. "She is a special girl. I need to be careful about everything because she can do everything."
