Nicolas Almagro has withdrawn from next week's Wimbledon Championships due to a foot injury.

The 28-year-old Spaniard, who was seeded 25 at SW19 this year, will be replaced in the draw by Canada's Vasek Pospisil.

Pospisil, who becomes the 31st seed, has lost in the first round in four of the last five years.

The Wimbledon referees office released a brief statement saying: "Nicolas Almagro has withdrawn from the gentlemen's singles due to a foot injury."
