The Slammers give their reaction as they retained the IPTL title

The Singapore Slammers retained the International Premier Tennis League title with a majestic 30-14 victory over table-toppers Indian Aces in Hyderabad on Sunday.

For world No 1 Carlos Moya started things off in spectacular fashion for the Slammers with a 6-4 victory over Mark Philippoussis.

International Premier Tennis League insist there is still an audience

Kiki Bertens continued the momentum by upsetting the queen of Hyderabad, Sania Mirza. The home favourite fell to a surprise 6-3 defeat against the Dutch No 1.

In the mixed doubles, Marcelo Melo and Bertens neutralised the power of Mirza and her Indian partner Rohan Bopanna 6-1.

The Slammers were in the ascendancy by now and Australian star Nick Kyrgios joined Melo to see off Aces pair Feliciano Lopez and Ivan Dodig to edge their side ever closer to a second consecutive title.

And it was left to Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis, a former Australian Open finalist, to seal an emphatic win with a 6-4 success over Feliciano Lopez.
