World number five David Ferrer comfortably overcame Italy's Simone Bolelli 6-4 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the ATP Swedish Open. The tournament's top seed, fresh off reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, needed just 74 minutes to see off his second-round opponent. Spaniard Ferrer managed four breaks of serve to remain on course for a repeat of his win in Bastad in 2007 - he also lost in the final last year to Swede Robin Soderling. Tommy Robredo is also through to the last eight, the Spanish wild-card - champion himself on Swedish soil in 2006 and then again in 2008 - recording a 6-3 6-1 win over Joao Souza of Brazil. However fourth seed Jarkko Nieminen and seventh seed Filippo Volandri went out on Wednesday, beaten by Jan Hajek and Jurgen Zopp respectively. In first round action, sixth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria knocked out Brazil's Rogerio Dutra Silva 6-1 6-4, setting up a clash with Frederico Gil.
