Dan Evans will kick off Great Britain's Davis Cup tie against Uzbekistan in Glasgow on Friday.

Evans, 28, will make his return to the Great Britain team for the first time since his year-long ban from the sport for testing positive for cocaine.

He made his comeback in April and has mainly played on the second-tier Challenger Tour this season.

Evans, who was a part of the Great Britain team which won the Davis Cup in 2015, will face world No 60 Denis Istomin in the opening round clash.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray will miss the match to continue his gradual return from hip surgery.

British No 1 and world No16 Kyle Edmund is also absent as he recovers from a recurrence of tonsillitis.

British No 2 Cameron Norrie will then take on world No 434 Jurabek Karimov in the second singles rubber of the day, before Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot take on Sanjar Fayziev and Denis Istomin in the doubles on Saturday.
