John Higgins has hailed his thrilling Betfred.com World Championship success over Judd Trump as "far and away the biggest and best" victory of his career.
The 35-year-old had trailed 10-7 and 12-9 before bouncing back to win 18-15 - despite Higgins claiming Trump had been the better player.
The win at the Crucible was his fourth world crown - and topped a turbulent year on a positive note for Higgins.
The Scot faced match-fixing allegations, was banned for six months for minor infringements of betting regulations and lost his father John snr to cancer.
However he is now focused on the future and he wants to emulate Stephen Hendry's record of seven world titles.
"This is far and away the biggest and best I've ever won, no question," Higgins said.
"I want to get to seven world titles now because I've won three in the last five years.
Exciting
"I've rededicated myself in the last few years and I want to keep on winning it because it's an unbelievable feeling
"Obviously you've got people like Judd, but if I can contend with him right now I've got a few years of trying to do it.
"People might laugh, but we'll wait and see."
Despite his own success, Higgins believes Trump has all the skills to win the world crown.
"I've lost to a multiple future world champion. He's that good," Higgins said.
"It was a joy to watch him as well. I'm sure 99% in Britain or around the world were watching him because of the brand of snooker he was playing.
"He's a good-looking boy, young, exciting. The old has-beens like us will be around for a few more years to ruffle them up but he's definitely the future, which is great."
