Newcastle will be looking to make it two wins from two in this season's Amlin Challenge Cup when they travel to Petrarca on Saturday.
The Falcons opened their campaign with a 27-19 win over Lyon last time out, though that hasn't stopped coach Alan Tait from making changes.
Greg Goosen gets a start at full-back with Alex Tait replacing Rikki Sheriffe on the wing, while Jamie Helleur gets the nod at outside centre.
Scrum-half Will Chudley is handed the number nine jersey while Andrew van der Heijden is picked to play alongside skipper James Hudson in the second row.
Tough battle
Tait expects a tough battle against the reigning Italian champions, who went down 53-22 to Top 14 heavyweights Toulon in their opening fixture.
"We have watched Petrarca on the video and they are a team that is going to get out there and give it their best shot," he said.
"This will be their cup final and they will certainly get in our faces so I can see it being a sticky game for us.
"We know what we are going over there for - it's to get an away win and that's important as we head into the Premiership game at Harlequins the following week."
Samoan international Taiasina Tu'ifua, Tongan winger Suka Hufanga, and South African lock Adriaan Fondse have all recently joined Newcastle but will not feature this weekend.
