Fractured shoulder rules out England flanker

England flanker Tom Croft is facing a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his right shoulder in Saturday's 21-11 defeat to South Africa. The Rugby Football Union confirmed on Sunday that Croft spent the night in Charing Cross hospital after the incident. The Leicester back rower will see a specialist this week to determine whether further action needs to be taken. Croft will miss the Tigers' Premiership showdown with London Irish next weekend and next month's back-to-back Heineken Cup clashes with Perpignan. But it is believed he could be back to full fitness in time for England's RBS 6 Nations campaign which opens against Wales in Cardiff on February 4. Leicester fly-half Toby Flood and Northampton winger Chris Ashton have both recovered from blows to the head but will undergo further checks at their clubs. And Sale fly-half Charlie Hodgson will also undergo reassessment for a bruised foot on his return to his club.
