Chris Malone is back for Harlequins as they host struggling Worcester in the EDF Energy Cup.
The inclusion of the fly-half in the home team's starting line-up means De Wet Barry shifts to inside centre for his first appearance at the Twickenham Stoop.
Quins are also boosted by the return of Hal Luscombe and Mike Brown to their back division.
The pack is also strengthened with Jim Evans coming back to partner Nicolas Spanghero in the second row.
Ceri Jones starts at loosehead prop, joining Chris Brooker and Mike Ross in the front row.
With Chris Robshaw and Will Skinner given the nod, flanker Paul Volley has to make do with a seat on the bench.
Changes for Warriors
Worcester hand a debut to Netani Talei as they look to kick-start their season with a win in the cup.
The Fijian international, who scored in Guinness A action last Monday night, starts at number eight in a back-row that also includes rising star Tom Wood.
Gavin Quinnell drops to the bench to make way for new signing Talei, while Kai Horstmann is ruled out with a knee injury.
After setting up the Warriors' try in their heavy home loss to the Ospreys last week, James Brown gets the nod to start at fly-half, a move that sees Loki Crichton switch to full back.
Brown will partner scrum-half Matt Powell in a new-look half-back partnership as namesake Ryan Powell is out for six weeks with a broken metatarsal
"We have made some adjustments this week and we feel it will work for us," said Ruddock, who is yet to taste victory with the Warriors this season.
"We have selected a battle hardened and senior team to get out there and try and restore our reputation.
"We have also made some changes with Tom Wood deservedly given an opportunity, he started the season brightly and has played very well for the A team, he is a fine young prospect."
