Exeter rout Welsh in 10-try masterclass

Loose forward Thomas Waldrom scored two tries for Exeter as they notched up 10 tries over London Welsh on Saturday.
There were two penalty tries included in the stash as the dominance from the home team began to tell in the latter stages of the game.
Waldrom is top of the Premiership try scorers for the season, and should he be there at the end of the campaign he will be the first forward since Neil Back in 1998-99 to achieve the feat.
It was London Welsh who took the early lead through loosehead prop Nathan Trevett when Chiefs overthrew a lineout and it was snapped up by Exiles captain Richard Thorpe. A few patient phases later and Trevett was over the whitewash.
Henry Slade put paid to the lead with two penalties but Seb Stegmann managed to score his second try of the season in the 19th minute to give his team a chance of ending their horrific run of losses.
His try seemed to give voice to the travel supporters, but it did not take the home side long to show their class.
First up it was Chudley who ghosted through a gap in the visitors' defence to score after an efficient lineout from the hosts before James stepped Stegmann to crash over in the corner. Slade made no mistake with either conversion as he helped his team to a 20-12 lead.
Unfortunately for the guests that spelled the end of the game for them as Exeter found the gears to open them up and throw in another six tries in front of a satisfied home side.
The loss spells disaster for Welsh, who now only have the very slightest of chances of avoiding the drop at the end of this season, as they are forced to accept yet another defeat after a promising start.
