Edinburgh continued their run of impressive form as they ran in seven tries against struggling Aironi at Murrayfield.
Winger Tim Visser crossed for a hat-trick and there was one apiece for Dave Denton, Nick De Luca, Lee Jones and Chris Leck, while Greig Laidlaw booted 13 points and Phil Godman also contributed with the boot.
George Biagi and Filippo Ferrarini had a try each for the outclassed visitors.
Denton set the scoreboard ticking over in the sixth minute when he crashed over after the hosts had pounced when Sinoti Sinoti fumbled a long-range penalty effort by Laidlaw that fell short of the target.
Eight minutes later Edinburgh doubled their tally. De Luca's pace took him past two tacklers and he drew a third before freeing Visser for converted try number two.
And the flying winger crossed the whitewash for a second time just three minutes later, once more profiting from disarray in the Italian outfit's defence.
Laidlaw again stroked over the conversion before displaying his defensive qualities to thwart opposite number Tito Tebaldi five metres short of the line. However, the skipper turned sinner from the ensuing lineout when Biagi charged down his clearance and plunged on the ball for a try.
Tebaldi's next action was to kill the ball inside his 22 - earning a yellow card and handing Laidlaw a straightforward penalty.
The Scots secured the four-try bonus point after 32 minutes, De Luca again profiting from poor defending as he galloped over from 30 metres to touch down and leave Laidlaw a simple conversion.
The next Aironi sortie ended with Denton handling the ball in a ruck and earning a yellow card for his sins but, although the visitors ended the half in the ascendancy, they failed to add to their points tally and Edinburgh reached the break with a 31-5 advantage.
Scoring spree
The hosts resumed their scoring spree when Harry Leonard delivered a delicate chip which Visser collected before charging over for his third score, Laidlaw again converting.
Edinburgh again resorted to the boot to unlock the Aironi defence, this time Godman executing a perfectly weighted cross kick for Lee Jones to score.
Try number seven came 10 minutes from full-time when Visser was halted on the edge of the Aironi 22 but Leck was on hand to complete the job and Godman's conversion took the tally to 50 points.
But the visitors at least finished with a flourish and Ferrarini burrowed over from close range for a consolation try.
