Zebre climbed out of the bottom two of the Guinness PRO12 standings after seeing off Italian rivals Benetton Treviso 18-8 at the Stadio Monigo.
Australia international Luke Burgess scored his first PRO12 try to give Zebre an 8-3 half-time lead and Giulio Toniolatti's converted score five minutes from time wrapped up the spoils for the visitors.
Having also beaten Treviso at home in their previous fixture, Zebre are now up to 10th in the table, moving a point above Newport Gwent Dragons.
Chris Smylie crossed with seven minutes remaining to cut Zebre's lead to three points but Toniolatti replied moments later to clinch a third successive victory for the first time in their history and consign Treviso to their 22nd consecutive loss.
