Table-toppers Saracens suffered their second Premiership defeat of the season, going down 14-11 to Bath at The Recreation Ground.
During a hard-fought battle, in which both sides crossed the try line once, Alex Lozowski missed a last-gasp kick which would have snatched a draw for the visitors.
All but six of the points arrived before the break, with Bath holding on for the win after surging into an 11-3 lead inside 25 minutes.
Tom Homer kicked the hosts ahead, after Sarries collapsed the scrum, before the league leaders responded with a penalty of their own.
Matt Garvey was deemed offside, allowing Lozowski to level matters from in front of the posts. Homer then made it 6-3, after Jackson Wray failed to release the ball.
Bath's opening try came courtesy of Max Clark, thanks to Ben Tapuai's powerful run, although Homer missed the conversion two minutes before the break.
Back came Saracens to notch their only try of the lunchtime kick-off, as Sean Maitland dived over to finish off an excellent move, following a period of heavy pressure.
Lozowski made it 11-11 with a drop kick on 47, before Homer restored Bath's lead.
The final half-an-hour failed to yield a single point, although Lozowski had the chance to snatch a draw when the home side were penalised for holding.
But, with less than 30 seconds remaining and from 50 yards, he kicked his opportunity wide.
Bath go second in the table for the time being, although Wasps can reclaim this position with a victory at Worcester on Sunday.
