Wigan made it two wins from two over the busy Easter period with a 36-6 triumph over Wakefield at a rain-soaked DW Stadium.
The Warriors backed up from their impressive 28-10 win over fierce rivals St Helens with a seven try demolition over the Wildcats, who have now lost three on the spin in the Stobart Super League.
Thomas Leuluai, Anthony Gelling and Darrell Goulding all crossed in the first half to help the hosts estbalish a 16-0 lead by the break.
Goulding crossed again in the second half while centre partner George Carmont bagged a brace, Wakefield's only reply coming from Kyle Wood.
Disallowed effort
Wigan thought they had crossed for the first try when Carmont went over but referee Ben Thaler disallowed his effort after ruling the ball had gone forward.
In the end they had to wait 15 minutes to break the deadlock, scrum-half Leuluai spinning out of a tackle to ground the ball.
They extended their lead after 27 minutes when the impressive Brett Finch sent over a teasing kick to the corner and Gelling, playing in place of the injured Pat Richards, outjumped Peter Fox to touch down.
A spilled ball from Jeff Lima from the restart put the visitors in a strong attacking position but excellent goal line defence from Wigan, especially from Gil Dudson and Logan Tomkins, kept the Wildcats at bay.
Goulding then waltzed in unopposed to get Wigan's third try and although Josh Charnley failed to add the extras, he did land a penalty on the stroke of half-time after Sam Tomkins was obstructed as he tried to chase his own kick.
The game was put out of Wakefield's reach just seven minutes into the second half with a well-crafted score.
Neat kick
Finch noticed winger Fox had come in field and he put over a neat kick for Gelling, who in turn offloaded for Carmont to touch down in the corner.
The score turned creator for the next try, his offload setting up Charnley to go over. The winger raced around closer to the posts to make his conversion attempt a little easier, making it 26-0.
A knock on from Wakefield deep in their own half gave the Warriors possession and their sixth try of the afternoon quickly followed as Leuluai and Sam Tomkins kept the ball alive superbly to allow Goulding to glide over.
The Wildcats at least avoided being shut out when Wood managed to reach the line in the 67th minute, with Paul Sykes adding the conversion.
However the Cherry and Whites refused to allow their opponents to have the last word, Carmont completing his brace and Charnley adding the extras to round out the scoring.
