Kieran Hyde kept his nerve to kick a last-gasp penalty and give Wakefield a dramatic 26-24 victory over Hull KR at the Hearwell Stadium.
The Wildcats had made the running for much of the game, with a Chris Dean double allowing them to take a 20-6 lead with 30 minutes remaining.
But Rovers fought back with 18 unanswered points with Kris Welham, Ben Cockayne and Blake Green crossing to give the visitors a four-point advantage heading into the final stages.
Wakefield then drew level when Josh Griffin touched down in the corner and, after missing the conversion, Hyde did add a further two points after the hooter had sounded.
The hosts deservedly took the lead eight minutes in when Kyle Amor pushed his way over the try-line after Glenn Morrison had been held up.
Errors
But the Robins hit back through Cockayne, with the full-back making up for an earlier error to score next to the post after some neat footwork.
They would not threaten for the rest of the first half, however, as Wakefield regained the lead when Dean shrugged off Michael Dobson to touch down.
Griffin missed the extra points to leave his side only 8-6 ahead, with Rovers maintaining the deficit until half-time despite a number of errors putting them under pressure.
The Wildcats were finally rewarded with two tries just after the break, the first of which came when Dean barged over for his second after Rovers knocked on deep in their own territory.
Wakefield then put the ball through the hands before Aaron Murphy pushed through three tackles for an excellent score.
There looked like no way back for Rovers, who were 14 points down with half-an-hour left but from nowhere they scored twice in 10 minutes.
Comeback
First, Dobson set Welham free to cross out wide before quick hands from the Australian and his half-back partner Green sent Cockayne over for his second.
The hosts tried to reassert their dominance but were twice held up just short by some stout defence, before Rovers broke away to take the lead.
Scott Wheeldon made the initial break from nothing before offloading for Green to stumble over the line and Dobson's conversion made it 24-20.
The drama was not over, though, as Tommy Lee chipped a delightful kick through for Griffin, who jumped to grab it and touch down.
The scores remained tied as Hyde missed a difficult conversion, but he made no mistake when presented with a far easier chance after the 80-minute mark.
